Seeing Death in a Dream

Seeing death is among the symbols that alarm the dreamer, yet what the books of interpretation most often read into it is not its outward form.

General meaning

Death in a dream is frequently interpreted as repentance and a return to Allah, or as a change of state from hardship to ease; by the signs it may indicate long life.

By state

• The dreamer dying then returning: repentance or a turn of state toward good.
• A death without funeral or weeping: may point to building, a marriage, or a new affair.
• Seeing a dead person alive and cheerful: the goodness of their state, perhaps a reminder to the dreamer to pray or give charity.
